Solar Panels - Photo Voltaic & Thermal
Roof Solar Panels, Hot Water Thermal Panels, detach and reset solar, remove and reinstall roof panels, Take off and Replace Electric Solar and Thermal Hot Water heating roof panels
Photo Voltaics (PV) roof panels utilize the conversion of sunlight into electricity using semiconducting materials that exhibit the photovoltaic effect. The "photovoltaic effect" is commercially utilized for electricity generation. A photovoltaic system employs solar modules, or panels, each comprising a number of solar cells, which generate electrical power. Most PV installations in our area are rooftop-mounted, in a fixed position facing the southeast, due south, or the southwest horizon.
A solar thermal collector collects heat by absorbing sunlight or heat from the surrounding warm summer air. The term "solar collector" commonly refers to a device for solar hot water heating. These panels are somewhat larger than PV panels, and for maximum efficiency need to be more directly angled to the southern sun, and are sometimes referred to "active" collectors for this reason.
It is hoped that large scale photovoltaic technology will eventually produce enough affordable sustainable energy to help mitigate global warming. Indeed, net metering and financial incentives for solar-generated electricity have supported solar PV installations for individual roof tops in many areas in Colorado. This can create significant savings for home and commercial property owners, as well as contributing to available electricity on the common grid, a win win for the region and the health of the world in general.
However, with the addition of thermal solar to the mix, the savings both in ongoing utility costs and the contribution to the decrease in atmospheric CO2 can be hugely significant, but has simply not been explored or exploited in any real quantitative effect.
It is a dirty secret in the power generation industry that, while many utility lobbyists and politicians crow about and act upon the decommissioning of coal fired power plants, and then moving the generation of power to natural gas, that this solves the global warming quandary. However, the burning of natural gas still significantly contributes emissions of CO2 to the atmosphere, while the drilling for natural gas and the "dead" abandoned or decommissioned gas wells are well known for leaking methane (80 times more damaging to the atmosphere than CO2 alone!) into the atmosphere.
We specialize in not only detaching and resetting existing PV solar panels to repair or replace storm damaged roofing, but also have vendors that can do energy and utility analyses, which can not only reduce the electricity costs of the structure, but with the addition of thermal solar to the mix, we can reduce the reliance on and the costs of natural gas to heat hot water or prepare food on gas powered kitchen stoves and grills (It has been determined that from a health perspective, gas ranges and hot water heaters can contribute to a dangerous, foul, unhealthy home interior environment as well, by leaking gas and fumes from the oven and cooking elements. Rarely, if ever, are gas appliances tested for their interior gas emissions, which can only get worse over time).
With natural gas costs spiking across the country, and with the increased demand for natural gas power generation virtually guaranteeing the natural gas supply will be constrained and thus more expensive for the foreseeable future, doesn’t it make sense to consider a combination of solar panels to save money and resources, while contributing to a healthier lifestyle and planet?
Our vendors not only are licensed and insured to detach and reset your existing solar panels of all types to replace or repair the roofing underneath (ensuring that we can access the mounting brackets to make sure there are no chances for leaks), but can sit down and review all your options and site requirements to give the home or business owner the best ROI for the future. We are affiliated with some of the best pros in the industry to take care of all aspects of your project or repairs.
